A Papal Make-Over? Not All Are Amused

Re “Hey, Holy Father, You Need a Make-Over” (Oct. 14): Having read Anne Beatts’ infantile attack on the Holy Father (under the guise of “humor”), I am amazed that your editors would even consider printing it.

A man who leads the Catholic Church and whose role of compassion and love for others is exemplary, is not fair game for ridicule.

Anne Beatts is one sick person to have written such a despicable and disrespectful article about a man who has devoted his life to God and our fellow man.

If our world had more outstanding men like Pope John Paul II, we would have less moral decay and certainly more dignity and respect for one another.

The Los Angeles Times owes an apology to the subscribers for printing such trash.
