Trees for Schools
On Oct. 16, The Times reported that TreePeople won approval from the LAUSD to “green” the city schools. On Oct. 20, an editorial commended the “admirable” TreePeople proposal. Will someone please be generous enough to include the equal collaborators in the project--Hollywood Beautification Team, Los Angeles Conservation Corps and Northeast Trees--and mention that the “free of charge” trees are supplied by DWP.
As supporters of these organizations, we find it annoying that TreePeople is getting all the coverage and credit while participating as one-fourth of a collaboration. It is an “admirable proposal” created together by four agencies.
