City to Discuss Eatery’s Role in Easing Parking

Share

The City Council will decide today how the owner of a proposed restaurant should pay for a parking shortage that could be created in Dana Point Plaza by the new business.

City staff members are suggesting that Paul Hennessey be required to help finance a parking structure or some other solution if parking becomes a problem in the shopping plaza.

Hennessey owns Hennessey’s Tavern, which is next door to the restaurant he proposes.

The Planning Commission last month approved allowing Hennessey to bring a DP Broiler to space formerly occupied by a video store, a decision being appealed to the council by a resident.
