Gun Study

Share

Your editorial imperative to Bill Clinton (“Time for Presidential Boldness,” Oct. 23) on the importation of assault weapons reveals something interesting about the motives and honesty of the anti-gun lobby. You implore him not to “compromise” by allowing the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms to study how these military-style rifles are actually being used. Why are the gun-banners afraid of a study?

Will such a study perhaps show that assault guns are rarely used to commit crimes? Other studies and statistics to date support just that. I welcome a study, one that will bring the truth to light and forever prevent Sen. Dianne Feinstein and her ilk from declaring that assault guns are “the weapon of choice for grievance killers” or making similar unsupported, out-of-thin-air statements.
