** Various artists, “Working for a Living,” Scotti Bros. There are some good moments here (from Lee Dorsey’s “Workin’ in the Coal Mine” to John Conlee’s “Working Man”) and the 12 selections do fit the theme if you stretch the concept far enough. But the styles--from the hollow pop-rock of the Vogues’ “Five O’Clock World” and the funk heat of James Brown’s “Living in America” to the novelty of Weird Al Yankovic’s “Dog Eat Dog”--are so disparate that it’s hard to imagine listening to them back to back unless you’re putting together a TGIF theme party.
