Findings Show Parents Satisfied With Schools

Despite overcrowded conditions in Anaheim City School District campuses, parents seem satisfied with the education their children are receiving, according to survey results recently released by the district Board of Trustees.

The survey randomly sampled more than 1,000 parents. About 89% of parents of students in kindergarten through sixth grade cited overall satisfaction with their local schools. The survey indicated that 83% of parents were aware of overcrowding in the 20,400-student district.

“Until we have three consecutive years of information, we should not look at these results as absolutes but as guidance for further study,” said Gayle Wayne, research consultant presenting the results.

The information will be used to target improvements, Supt. Roberta Thompson said.
