California Amplifier Names Sturm CEO
California Amplifier in Camarillo has named Fred Sturm president and chief executive officer.
The company also announced an increase in the board of directors from four to five members and Sturm’s election to the board. Sturm will report to Ira Coron, who continues as chairman of the board.
Most recently, Sturm was president of Chloride Power Systems in the United States and managing director of Chloride Safety, Security and Power Conversion in the United Kingdom, both of which are part of the London-based Chloride Group. Chloride Group has annual revenues of about $180 million.
Previously, he held a variety of general management positions with M/A-Com and TRW Electronics. He is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles with bachelor and master’s degrees in business administration.
California Amplifier designs and manufactures amplifiers, down converters and other products used in conjunction with the delivery of multichannel television.
