Special Meeting on City Goals Planned
The City Council will hold a special meeting Monday to discuss progress on its goals for the year.
Council members cited significant progress on two major projects already this year. They agreed to study ways to revitalize the Balboa Peninsula and approved a dredging project of Upper Newport Bay.
With those projects underway, the city is likely to turn its attention to annexation of unincorporated Newport Coast. Officials have begun studying whether the benefits of annexing the area would exceed the costs in the long term.
The council meets at 3 p.m. at City Hall, 3300 W. Newport Blvd.
Information: (714) 644-3309.
