Whittaker Corp.’s Xyplex Taps Burns for Sales Job

Xyplex Networks, a Whittaker Corp. company that develops communications products, has appointed Les Burns as vice president for Europe, Middle East and Africa sales.

He will be based at the Xyplex office in Harmondsworth, Middlesex, England.

Burns will be responsible for all sales, marketing and distribution activities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. His main responsibility will be to establish greater market share in these regions by expanding Xyplex’s distribution network.

Burns has 20 years of sales experience in a variety of networking organizations. His most recent job was director of international sales for Nexion, where he was responsible for running its European operations.

Xyplex, headquartered in Littleton, Mass., is a wholly owned subsidiary of Simi Valley-based Whittaker Corp. Whittaker provides high-technology products and services to the aerospace and communications industries through its three principal operating segments: Whittaker Aerospace Group, Xyplex Networks and Aviant Information.
