Garden Grove-Santa Ana Freeway Connectors to Reopen
The eastbound and westbound connectors from the Garden Grove Freeway to the northbound Santa Ana Freeway will reopen today.
The connectors, under construction over the last three months, have been realigned and widened to prepare for the widening of the Santa Ana Freeway to the north.
The $1.1-billion Santa Ana Freeway improvement project began last December and stretches 9 1/2 miles from the interchange of the Santa Ana, Garden Grove and Orange freeways north through the cities of Anaheim and Fullerton to Beach Boulevard in Buena Park.
The project includes carpool lanes and major ramp improvements. Completion is scheduled for 2000.
Information on the project and other freeway construction work is available on Highway Advisory Radio AM-1620 or by calling (714) 724-2077.
