The San Diego Chargers’ home opener against the Carolina Panthers will not be televised locally because nearly 6,200 general admission tickets remained unsold by the 1 p.m. Thursday deadline.

It will be the Chargers’ first blackout since the 1994 home opener against Cincinnati.

Meanwhile, Charger quarterback Stan Humphries, whose left shoulder is dislocated, was upgraded to probable and probably will start.
