SCC Shut Out by Judson in Soccer Final

Pedro Fiqueiredo scored four goals to help Judson (Ill.) to a 4-0 victory over Southern California College in the SCC soccer tournament championship game Saturday at Concordia.
Goalkeeper Jefferson Curtis made eight saves for Judson (5-0).
SCC (4-1) advanced to the championship game with a 2-1 victory over the College of Notre Dame and a 7-0 victory over LaVerne.
In nonconference men’s soccer:
Chapman 3, Occidental 0--Mike Sterner scored two goals for Chapman (3-2). Goalkeeper Paul Gerdis had two saves in the shutout.
At the BYU women’s soccer tournament:
Montana 5, CS Fullerton 0--Karen Hardy scored three goals for Montana. Goalkeeper Dawn Bitsie had seven saves for the Titans.
At the Irvine Invitational cross-country meet:
UC Irvine finishes fifth--Christy Villa finished 20th with a time of 18 minutes 23 seconds as the UCI women finished fifth. Cal State Fullerton’s Sarah MacDougall finished 14th in 18:02 over 5,000 meters.
The Titans finished ninth in the women’s meet and fifth in the men’s. UCI’s men finished seventh.
At the Whittier Invitational cross-country meet:
SCC women place second--Monica Landa finished ninth in 24:21 over 6,000 meters at Clark Park as SCC finished second behind Claremont.
In the Fresno State women’s volleyball invitational:
Bowling Green 3, CS Fullerton 1--LaCretia Smith had 18 kills as Fullerton lost to Bowling Green, (7-4), 15-7, 4-15, 15-3, 15-13. Allison Anderson had 14 kills for the Titans (7-4).
Carolyn Kittell had 45 assists for the Titans.
Heather Murphy led Bowling Green with 15 kills.
In the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men’s water polo:
USC 14, UC Irvine 2--James Castle and Simun Cimerman each scored three goals as second-ranked USC defeated UCI in the season opener. Marko Pintaric and Sean Hylton each scored twice for USC (1-0).
Dan Klatt and Robert Allaire each scored for the Anteaters (0-1).
