SAN BERNARDINO--Get your kicks at the Route 66 Rendezvous, Thursday through Sept. 21. Nineteen city blocks will be blocked to regular traffic. About 2,000 vehicles, including pre-’73 classics, hot rods and antique fire engines are expected to register ($40). Entertainment will include ‘50s and ‘60s music. SOLVANG--Old World customs will be displayed at Danish Days, Friday through Sept. 21. Folk dancers, musicians and storytellers will perform. Artists will demonstrate the Danish art of papirklip--cutting paper into intricate designs--and woodcarving. On Main Street, a breakfast of aebleskiver (small pancakes), medisterpolse (sausage), juice and coffee ($4.50) will be served 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday and Sept. 21. BUTTONWILLOW--The Cotton Harvest Festival on Saturday at Buttonwillow Park will include a parade of antique and modern farm equipment, bands and floats. VENTURA--This city stages a final summer fling with the California Beach Festival, Saturday and Sept. 21 at the Ventura Promenade, U.S. 101 and Harbor Boulevard. There will be children’s entertainment; rock, blues and Cajun music; the Longboard Surfing Competition; and volleyball and sand-soccer tournaments. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. $6 adults, $4 for those over 55; under 12 free.
