The merger last spring of managed care behemoths Health Net Inc. of Woodland Hills and Foundation Health of Sacramento yielded at least one benefit for Orange County--jobs.

Before the merger, both companies ran subsidiaries that provide employers with health care professionals to treat injured workers. Now, Health Net’s unit, Comp24, formerly based in Woodland Hills, has been merged into Foundation’s former unit, Reviewco of Irvine.

Reviewco’s work force has jumped to 320 from 190 before the merger. Fifty of Reviewco’s new employees previously worked for Comp24, 25 were hired to fill positions vacated by Comp24 employees who did not want to relocate, and the rest were hired to implement the company’s nationwide business expansion.
