Kenneth F. Hill, 83; Was Artist in Ventura
Kenneth F. Hill, a Ventura artist known for his painting, needlepoint, calligraphy and engraving, died Monday. He was 83.
Hill was born Oct. 17, 1913, in Beaver Falls, Pa. He served in the U.S. Army for 20 years, and was a first sergeant when he retired. He then worked as an engraver and a tool-and-die maker. In 1983, Hill left Pennsylvania and moved to Ventura.
Hill was a member of the Philatelic Society of Ventura County, the Saticoy Men’s Golf Club, and was active in the Ventura College Friends of the High Tech Center. He was a member of Harbor Missionary Church, where he sang in the choir.
Hill is survived by his wife, Edna, of Ventura; brothers Joe and Wilmer of Pennsylvania and Ray of Kansas; sisters Marjorie Harsh and Virginia Nahas of Pennsylvania; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The burial service will be held in Pennsylvania. Contributions may be made to Harbor Missionary Church’s new church fund, 1711 Wood Place, Ventura 93003.
Arrangements are under the care of Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura.
