Working Mother Magazine Praises Rockwell

Rockwell International Corp. won kudos from Working Mother magazine, thanks to programs like one-day dry-cleaning and laundry services for Seal Beach workers and day care for 250 kids in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Other Southern California companies on the magazine’s Top 100 list were Mattel Inc. in El Segundo, Seagram Co.’s Universal Studios unit in Universal City, Amgen Inc. in Thousand Oaks, and Patagonia Inc. in Ventura. The companies weren’t ranked.
Costa Mesa-based Rockwell was the only Orange County company on the list.
Spokesman Terry Francisco said fitness centers at the Cedar Rapids avionics center and in the Seal Beach facility (now owned by Boeing Co.), along with flexible schedules at many of Rockwell’s 100 workplaces nationwide, also were among the reasons the conglomerate was regarded as family friendly.
