Toeller Named Senior VP, Partner at Koll Real Estate
Gary Toeller has been made partner and senior vice president of development for the Los Angeles area for Newport Beach-based Koll Real Estate Group. Before joining Koll, he was partner, senior vice president and general manager of the commercial division at Cabot, Cabot & Forbes. Toeller also has been Los Angeles regional president of Pacific Realty Partners, president and chief executive of Daum Real Estate Services in Los Angeles and first vice president, investment properties, for CB Commercial.

Debbie Aguirre has been named senior vice president of Birtcher Senior Housing in Laguna Niguel, responsible for directing the day-to-day management of all development operations. She has previously been director of development for Lincoln Property Co., Gibraltar Builders and Edison Capital.

Dan Hedigan has been named senior vice president and general counsel for the Irvine Co. He had been general counsel. Hedigan was counsel for California Pacific Homes from 1992 to 1996. He originally joined the Irvine Co. in 1982 as counsel for the former Land and Residential Development division. Bruce Endsley has been appointed senior vice president of human resources. He joined the company in 1980 after working for Hughes Aircraft Co. In addition, Pete Changala was named vice president of agriculture operations. He has worked for the company since 1985.

Paul W. Higgs has been named vice president in the consumer asset management division of Union Bank of California. He is based in the Orange office. Before joining the bank, Higgs was a consumer credit project manager for Home Savings of America.

Tom Beall has been named controller at Xerox Corp.’s South Coast operations in Santa Ana. He was formerly manager for strategic financial planning at Xerox Printing Systems in El Segundo.

Kathleen M. Collins has joined First American Title Insurance Co. in Santa Ana as associate counsel. She will be responsible for claims and corporate legal issues. Collins was previously associate at the Los Angeles law firm of Marcus, Watanabe, Snyder & Dave.

Matthew F. Kajfez has been named director of centralized purchasing for Furon Co. in Laguna Niguel. Kajfez was formerly global sourcing leader of engineering and construction services for General Electric Co., director of purchasing and contract administration for Duquesne Light Co. and supervisor of management audit for Centerior Energy Co.

Robert Shibuya has been appointed executive managing director for the West Division of Insignia Commercial Group Inc. in Irvine. He will oversee the company’s management portfolio of more than 45 million square feet of office, industrial and retail properties throughout California. Before his new position, Shibuya was senior managing director.

Gary L. Odegard has joined GreenLight Marketing & Communications in Newport Beach as vice president. He will direct the public relations division. Also, Monte Gibbs has joined the company as executive director of Monte Gibbs
GreenLight Interactive Studio. He will develop a Web-based information, design and technology division. He previously created the Web services division for Epoch Networks in Irvine.

Michael George has been named to the newly created position of chief operations officer of Sunstone Hotel Properties Inc., the lessee of Sunstone Hotel Investors in San Clemente. He was formerly senior vice president of operations at Capstar Hotel Co. in Washington, D.C. He also served as chief operating officer and vice president of operations at Devon Hotels Ltd. in Columbus, Ohio.

David Proctor has been appointed vice president for the Western region for Electronic Retail Network, a distributor of local spot cable advertising. He will be based in the company’s new Irvine office. Proctor was previously regional director of advertising sales for Century Communications.

Dr. Marc Lippman has joined Techniclone Corp.’s board of directors. He succeeds William V. Moding, chief financial officer, who will step down from the board to concentrate his efforts in financial administration functions, the company said. Lippman is the director of the Vincent T. Lombardi Cancer Center, Georgetown University Medical Center. Techniclone, based in Irvine, is a cancer therapeutics company.

Wayne C. Arnold has opened law offices in Irvine, representing management in employment litigation and handling general business litigation. He was formerly a partner in the law firm of Bryan Cave LLP.

J. Drennan Lowell has been named chief financial officer and vice president of EIF Holdings Inc., an Anaheim provider of maintenance services for the industrial, low-level nuclear and environmental sectors. He succeeds Joel Thomas, who left to pursue other business interests. Lowell had been vice president and chief financial officer of NSC Corp., a contracting company that provides asbestos and lead removal services.

Wayne L. Blair has been appointed chief financial officer of Research Engineers Inc. in Yorba Linda. He succeeds Brian Paul, who resigned to pursue an opportunity with a privately held company. Before joining Research Engineers, Blair was chief financial officer at National Electronics Corp. and Satellite Technology Management Inc., now STM Wireless Inc., and held accounting and controller positions at MAI Systems Corp.
