Motorcycle Escort Killed in Accident

WICHITA, Kan. —
A motorcycle escort trying to catch up with a funeral procession was killed when he rear-ended a car carrying mourners.
Bruce E. Wendt, a 32-year-old employee of a funeral home, died Thursday.
No one in the Lincoln Town car was hurt.
Wendt had blocked traffic at an intersection to let the procession go by, then apparently tried to catch up and went around a curve too fast.
