Santa Monica Firm Lands VH1 Account

The VH1 cable channel, a unit of Viacom, has awarded its $10-million advertising account to Santa Monica-based Rubin Postaer & Associates. The agency is known for the ads it creates for American Honda Motors Co. Also vying for the account was GSD&M;, a fast-growing agency from Austin, Texas. Media planning and buying had previously been handled by TBWA Chiat/Day. VH1 did not have an agency for the creative portion of the business.
