Cal Lutheran Plans Youth Service Day
Hundreds of Cal Lutheran University students will clean fields and beaches, pluck weeds, tutor elementary students and do landscaping work April 21 as part of National Youth Service Day.
The 10th annual event is dedicated to taking time off work and school to volunteer at social service agencies, parks and schools.
Cal Lutheran’s events are scheduled between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Community service projects will be available for people who can give 10 minutes or several hours. Volunteers will end the day with a dinner at Kingsman Park.
Sponsors include the Lutheran Brotherhood, student government and Cal Lutheran Community Service Center. For information, call Justin Knight at the center, 493-3981.
