Pedro Martinez Proves No Goal Is Too High

No matter how many games Pedro Martinez wins for the Red Sox, he is already a winner in the biggest challenge of all, the game of life. He proves again, as many have before him, that being raised in poverty cannot stop anyone from achieving the highest goals.

The ones to be pitied are those who allow poverty of the mind to limit their potential, and they come from the richest of homes, as well as the poorest. Every time Martinez returns to his home in the Dominican Republic, as he gives something in appreciation for what he learned about life there, he sets an example for other youths to follow.

He’s refreshing. Shaking his hand would be more of an honor than meeting the political elite in Washington, or any Hollywood moguls.
