Playoff Ticket Sales Brisk

Share

The Kings are assured of playing at least two first round playoff games at the Great Western Forum and even though they do not know the date of their first home game, only 2,300 tickets remain.

“I don’t know for sure, but it looks like it will be a Sunday afternoon game on Fox [network television],” King President Tim Leiweke said. “Considering that we don’t know for sure who we’re playing or the date, I’m pretty pleased with [the playoff ticket sales].”

If the Kings end up facing St. Louis in the first round, the Blues could opt to have the series begin on Wednesday, April 22, with the second game April 24th. The Kings could then be home for Game 3 on April 26th.

Olli Jokinen, the third overall pick in last year’s draft, completed the Finnish Elite League playoffs in style. In game three of the championship best of five series against Ilbes, Jokinen scored the winning overtime goal to help IFK Helsinki to a 3-0 sweep for the league title.

Jokinen finished the playoffs with seven goals and nine points in nine games. In the regular season, he had 11 goals and 39 points in 30 games.
