Dennis Miller has been named senior vice president of Lions Gate Entertainment, taking charge of all television activities of the Canadian-based company and looking for opportunities in distribution, programming, production and acquisitions. Miller has been a consultant since leaving as a top television executive at Sony Pictures Entertainment. In September, Lions Gate bought Mandalay Television, a producer of TV movies and miniseries, and other programming. In March, the company bought a stake in Mandalay Pictures, the movie production company owned by former Sony head Peter Guber.
