Simpson Comments on Fuhrman

Share

Given that O.J. Simpson’s freedom itself was based on such a shaky foundation of deception, lies and rumors, I found it remarkable that the earth itself did not crack open and swallow him whole as he wrote his lame statements on the need for disclosure and truth in the Fuhrman case (“Prosecute Fuhrman in the Court of Public Opinion,” Commentary, April 12). Mark Fuhrman is a monster in his own right and I have no problem seeing his records released, but this new activist O.J. is not the ideal leader for this truth movement.

Speaking of justice, how is O.J.’s investigation on Nicole and Ron’s murder going? Any new suspects?

* Wow! What a well-written piece by O.J. Simpson (wink, wink). I wonder which lawyer was the author? Guess old O.J. and his pals hope the “public” forgot that he is absolutely 100% incapable of correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc. We all saw plenty of examples of his writing, including that ridiculous farewell note left behind before the notorious “low-speed chase.” Nice try, O.J.

* I agree wholeheartedly with Simpson. There may be a statute of limitations which prevents Fuhrman’s actions against minorities while a police officer from being prosecuted, but there is no reason to keep the information about those actions from the public.

The citizens of Los Angeles have a right to see not only a thorough investigation of racist and sexist actions by a police officer investigated, but have a right to a full disclosure of any findings of such an investigation.

The information about Fuhrman is particularly troubling because it makes one suspect that since those records did not prevent Fuhrman from remaining on the police force, Fuhrman may not be the only police officer involved in such incidents and those other officers may still be on the police force.

* Obstructing the truth? Interfering with justice? Encouraging deception? Does Simpson think he has the credibility to address these issues? Is this a joke?
