MAI Systems Loses $4.5 Million in Fourth Quarter

MAI Systems Corp., the Irvine information system services provider, posted a loss of $4.5 million, or 47 cents a share, for the fourth quarter, compared with a loss of $25.2 million, or $3.06 a share, for the previous year’s final three months. Quarterly revenue rose to $18.1 million from $16.6 million. The company said income was affected by about $3.5 million in charges. For the year, MAI lost $10.2 million, or $1.08 a share, compared with a loss of $13.5 million, or $1.85 a share, for the previous year. Annual revenue rose to $71 million from $64.2 million.
