Colorado Snow Still a Problem

The start of the Atlanta-Colorado game at Denver was delayed an hour for Coors Field employees to complete clearing snow from the outfield. Friday night’s game was postponed in the third inning because of a combination of snow and rain.

A bronze statue of St. Louis Cardinal Hall of Fame pitcher Bob Gibson was unveiled outside Busch Stadium before the Cardinals’ game against Philadelphia. Gibson, who won 251 games for the Cardinals from 1959 through 1975, was on hand for the ceremony. . . . Cardinal outfielder Ray Lankford, who left Friday night’s game after he tightened his left hamstring while running out a double in the first inning, sat out Saturday’s game. He’s day-to-day. . . . Florida Marlin starter Rafael Medina, put on the disabled list after his start Friday, will have his shoulder examined Monday in Miami.

New York Met minor leaguer Craig Erickson of the Class-A St. Lucie (Fla.) Mets was charged with drunk driving in Stuart, Fla. The arrest came three days after four minor leaguers were arrested on charges they raped a 17-year-old girl in a Port St. Lucie motel room.
