Foundation Board Adds 4 Members

Four new members were seated on the board of trustees for the Conejo/Las Virgenes Future Foundation, an organization seeking to resolve issues of concern to area residents.

Betty De Santis, Nancy Dillon, Pat Manning and Carol Rosenberg were elected recently to the board to serve out terms left by retiring members.

There are 34 voting members on the board, representing more than 250 contributing members throughout the area.

The board makes financial decisions for the foundation, and its members serve on committees that focus on several target issues such as youth activities, education reform and race relations.

Manning is returning to the board, having served as a voting member from 1990-96. Manning, who retired recently as city clerk of Agoura Hills, was an early board member of the Oak Park Unified School District.

Foundation officials said that De Santis, the current mayor pro tem of Westlake Village, has expressed interest in serving on the committee working with the Intercommunity Student Council. She also has served as a board member of the Las Virgenes Unified School District.

Dillon, city clerk of Thousand Oaks, was a founding member of the Women’s Legacy Fund, Ventura County Community Foundation.

Rosenberg, a docent at the Getty Center, has been a member of the city of Agoura Hills’ Community Services Advisory Committee for 11 years.

The Future Foundation, established in 1972, serves the communities along the Ventura Freeway Corridor, from Calabasas to Newbury Park.

It was launched as a campaign to study issues that are important to area residents and to enhance the quality of life in the region.
