Dr. Joseph Riggio, 72, veteran anesthesiologist and American Heart Assn. executive. Born in Pittsburgh, Riggio studied at the University of Pittsburgh and completed his medical training at County-USC Medical Center and Queen of Angels Hospital in Los Angeles. He was the top anesthesiologist at Providence-St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank for 32 years. At the time of his death, the retired doctor was president of the Burbank chapter of the American Heart Assn. An avid sportsman, Riggio was a member of the boards of directors of the Southern California Sports Broadcasters and the Lakeside Golf Club. On Tuesday in Los Angeles of a heart attack.
