Expo Offers Programs For Whole Family

Share

Spider-Man, a maternity-wear fashion show and even baby potbellied pigs can be found under one roof Sunday at the first “Parent, Baby & Child Expo.”

Children can get their faces painted, watch performances of “Charlotte’s Web” (hence the pigs), or frolic in an inflatable room filled with balls, said David Anthony, one of the event’s producers.

Spider-Man and the Rugrats cartoon characters will also be on hand, as will talent recruiters from the CBS-TV show “Kids Say the Darndest Things.”

Parents, in the meantime, can browse 70 exhibits or take in lectures about birthing, relationships and fitness after childbirth, or financing a child’s education. Fashion shows will feature clothes for expectant moms, as well as dads and children.

The event was designed by Tulum Productions to showcase “basically everything an existing, new or expectant family would need,” Anthony said.

The expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza Hotel, 880 S. Westlake Blvd.

Admission is $5 general, with children 12 and younger admitted free.
