Local Events Set for National Night Out
As part of a nationwide effort to heighten awareness about drug and crime prevention, Simi Valley residents are being asked to participate in National Night Out on Tuesday.
Between 7 and 10 p.m., community members can attend neighborhood ice cream parties, cookouts and flashlight walks. Crime-prevention mascot Officer McGruff will also be on hand to interact with residents.
More than 9,000 communities throughout the country participate in the annual event, which is designed to prevent crime and strengthen community spirit.
