ORANGE COUNTY EARNINGS

MTI Technology Corp.: The Anaheim provider of data storage products posted net income of $4.1 million, or 14 cents a share, for the first quarter of fiscal 1999, 32% higher than the $3.1 million, or 11 cents a share, reported a year ago. Revenue for the quarter ended July 4 was up 13% to $49.4 million from $43.8 million.
