ORANGE COUNTY EARNINGS

White Cap Industries: The Costa Mesa business-to-business retailer of specialty tools and materials reported that net income for the first fiscal quarter rose to $2.6 million, or 23 cents a share, from $403,000, or 4 cents a share, for the like period last year.

Revenue for the quarter ended June 27 reached a record $68.6 million, 84% higher than the $37.3 million recorded a year ago.
