New Adult Shop Is Found in Violation of Zoning Ordinance
The Building and Safety Department has determined that a new shop selling adult-themed merchandise on Venice Boulevard is in violation of zoning ordinances.
The Hollywood Erotic Boutique at 12820 Venice Boulevard opened two weeks ago despite rules that adult entertainment businesses must be 500 feet away from a school, church or residential zone, said Niki Tennant, a deputy to Councilwoman Ruth Galanter.
The store sells pornographic literature, videos, lingerie and lotions.
The store’s attorney, Roger Jon Diamond, said the store will appeal the decision. “It is not an adult entertainment business because it does not have a peep-show video arcade,” he said.
