Burke Leads Vigilantes Past Tri-City, 9-0

The Vigilantes, led by a second-inning grand slam by Alan Burke, routed the Tri-City Posse, 9-0, Tuesday night at Saddleback College.

The Vigilantes got Mike Smith, among the league leaders in strikeouts, the only run he needed in the first inning. Kendrick Davis led off with a single and two outs later, he scored from third on a single by Burke.

Smith struck out 10 and went the distance for the Vigilantes, giving up seven hits and walking only one.

The Vigilantes scored five times in the second and pushed across single runs in the third, sixth and eighth innings to complete the scoring.
