Disappearance of Man Puzzles Laguna Police

Share

Police are seeking the public’s help in finding a San Diego man whose car was abandoned in Laguna Beach last week.

William James Henry, 30, had moved from Rochester, N.Y., to San Diego in January and had found work as a truck driver, Laguna Beach Police Det. Brian Kelso said.

He “didn’t like the business very much,” and told friends and relatives that he was returning to New York, Kelso said.

He left July 20 in his green Oldsmobile station wagon. The next day, the car was ticketed for a parking violation on Laguna Canyon Road not far from the Sawdust Festival grounds. On July 26, it was impounded.

Detectives found a Disneyland ticket dated July 20 in the car, although it isn’t clear if Henry went there, Kelso said.

Henry is 5 feet 9 inches tall and 170 pounds, with short brown hair and hazel eyes. He wears thin-framed glasses and might have a mustache or short beard, Kelso said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Laguna Beach police at (949) 497-0370.
