Eighty candidates, 35 of them incumbents, had filed for election to school boards around Ventura County by Friday.

The filing deadline will be extended to Wednesday in cases in which incumbents do not seek reelection.

In four districts--Fillmore, Hueneme, Santa Paula Union High and Somis--all incumbents filed for reelection unopposed. In two districts--Rio and Santa Clara--too few candidates filed to fill all the open seats.
