14,000 Affected by Brief Power Outage
A late-afternoon equipment failure briefly left thousands of Newbury Park residents and businesses in the dark Monday.
The outage affected about 14,000 homes and businesses, a Southern California Edison spokesman said, adding that the failure was not heat-related.
The outage started at 4:50 p.m. when equipment failed in the company’s Newbury substation. Power was returned at 5:07 p.m.
