Officials to Hold Public Meeting on Airport Noise
Federal Aviation Administration officials will meet with residents tonight to discuss noise and other problems emanating from Los Angeles International Airport.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in council chambers at Hermosa Beach City Hall, 1315 Valley Drive. The meeting also will be televised live by the area cable outlet, Century Communications.
FAA officials will make a presentation, followed by a question and answer period and comment from the public, city officials said.
Noise complaints from residents have increased sharply in the past year, and officials in Hermosa Beach and other nearby cities have been trying to get the FAA to make modifications in takeoff patterns and procedures.
