After a standoff with a Sheriff’s Department SWAT team, deputies arrested two men Tuesday in connection with a recent shooting that left one man wounded, authorities said.

Robert Loveland, 23, and Craig Curry, 20, both of Norwalk, were booked on charges of assault with a deadly weapon after a shooting last Sunday that left a 28-year-old man with a stomach wound, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy John McBride.

A deputy on routine patrol Tuesday morning recognized Loveland as a suspect in the shooting as Loveland stood with a group of people outside a house in the 11000 block of Adoree Street, McBride said.

When the deputy tried to contact Loveland, the group ran into the house, McBride said. As the special weapons team and deputies from nearby stations arrived, everybody in the house, including Curry, went out, except Loveland. The group told deputies that Loveland had fled to his mother’s house nearby on Imperial Highway, McBride said. Deputies dispatched to the home found Loveland hiding in a trailer. Loveland emerged about 1:40 p.m. after authorities used “flash bang” devices to force him out.
