Emulex Sees Net Income, Revenue Slip

Emulex Corp., a Costa Mesa-based provider of computer network products, reported net income of $200,000, or 3 cents a share, for the fourth fiscal quarter ended June 28, down from $920,000, or 15 cents a share, for the same period of the prior fiscal year. Revenue declined 11% to $14 million from $15.7 million. For the year, a net loss of $10.8 million, or $1.77 a share, was recorded, which included consolidation charges of $10.6 million related to the closure of the company’s Puerto Rican manufacturing facility. Net income for fiscal 1997 was $1.6 million, or 25 cents a share. Revenue was down 8% to $59.5 million from $64.8 million.
