Yasgur Farm Sprouts 3-Day Music Festival

From Times Wire Reports

Balding baby boomers, tie-dyed families and body-pierced teenagers gathered at the Bethel, N.Y., site of the original Woodstock concert for a 29th anniversary show. Far from repeating the crowded, chaotic atmosphere of the ’69 show at Max Yasgur’s farm, the three-day festival kicked off like a mellow, countercultural, all-ages show. Promoters of “A Day in the Garden” said about 12,000 or more of the 30,000 tickets available for Friday’s show were sold. Slow ticket sales had prompted a two-for-one ticket promotion.
