Cypress police asked for the public’s help Wednesday in finding two people they suspect of being involved in a racially motivated attack earlier this month on a Latino man and two others.

Authorities have issued arrest warrants for Ryan Bill Marsau, 22, of Buena Park and Ryan Scott Mozer, 21, of Riverside on suspicion of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and violation of a person’s civil rights, said Cypress Police Lt. John Schaefer.

Police believe the men are involved in a local white supremacist gang, Schaefer said. “This incident is particularly outrageous to us because the attacks are from behind, tremendously cowardly, and they’re random.”

The Aug. 3 attack occurred when five men and two juveniles arrived at Cypress Family Billiards in the 6000 block of Ball Road. According to witnesses, the men were seeking out an African-American man and his white girlfriend, whom the group had seen previously at the pool parlor, Schaefer said.

When the group did not find the couple, they approached a 34-year-old Latino man from Huntington Beach in the pool lounge’s parking lot. The man was struck over the head with a beer bottle and knocked unconscious, Schaefer said.

When two friends of the victim left the pool parlor to aid the man, they were kicked, beaten and stabbed, according to witnesses. The suspects then fled the scene in two vehicles, police said.

Police have arrested Vincent James Putzier, 19, Keith Ryan Leombruno, 25, and John David Dick, 22, all of Garden Grove in connection with the incident. They have also taken into custody two juveniles from Stanton and Anaheim. The adults are at the Orange County Jail, and the teens are being held at Orange County Juvenile Hall.
