Libraries to Close 2 Days to Install Online System
The Santa Monica Public Library and its branches will be closed Sunday and Monday while library staff implement a new online catalog system, library officials said.
During the closures, library staff will convert data from the existing electronic catalog to a system that will be available to patrons on the World Wide Web, said Susan Annett, public services librarian.
The new catalog system will allow library-users to renew checked-out materials, send messages to staff and complete other tasks online.
