Irvine Helps Vigilantes Beat Western

Share

Kirk Irvine pitched a four-hitter as the Vigilantes beat the Western Warriors, 8-2, in a Western League game Sunday at Saddleback College.

Irvine, a right-hander who pitched at Rancho Santiago College and Cal State Fullerton, gave up both Warrior runs in the first inning. It was his first complete game of the season. Irvine (5-6) has given up 116 hits in 110 innings this season.

Mission Viejo was the designated visitor because the game was originally scheduled at Grays Harbor, Wash., but the franchise folded. The league saved the team, which will complete the season, playing all road games. The Vigilantes scored once in the third and three more times in the fourth inning to go up, 4-2.
