Grand Jury Indicts 6 in 1997 Fatal Stabbing
The Orange County Grand Jury handed down six murder indictments Monday in an alleged gang-related stabbing of an 18-year-old San Juan Capistrano man in October.
Miguel Gonzales was found dead alongside railroad tracks Oct. 7, 1997, the day after he was attacked, the district attorney’s office said.
Under the indictment, Juan Gutierrez, 20; Dean Jacobs, 23; William L’Hommedieu, 17; Hugo Penuelas, 17; Ramon Uribe, 18; and Rafael Vasquez, 17, are charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and participation in a criminal street gang.
Bail for each of the suspects has been set at $250,000. They are scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
