CSUN Extension to Host Fall Open House

Share

An open house today at the College of Extended Learning at Cal State Northridge will offer information about new career-oriented classes offered in the fall semester, officials said.

Instructors will be on hand to discuss the courses, including digital publishing and production, interactive media, Internet marketing and how to succeed in a major television market, said Caroline Miranda, a spokeswoman for the college.

“We’re doing this as a public service so that people will know that there are many classes available to them to improve themselves and their career standing,” she said. “We offer many business and computer classes and certificate programs, which are clusters of classes in the same subject.”

Instructors will also be on hand to answer questions about other fall classes, such as accounting, taxation, international business, human resources management, foreign languages, contract management and computers.

In addition, Ginny Hein, a CSUN career counselor, will speak about career and job-seeking strategies. She will be available for questions after her lecture, Miranda said.

Open house attendees will receive a 10% discount on any one fall semester course not eligible for university credit, she said.

All courses, which are designed for working adults, will be offered at night and on weekends.

The open house will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Bookstore Complex, on the south side of the campus off Nordhoff Street, between Etiwanda and Lindley avenues.

Free parking is available in student lot B on Darby Avenue, west of Etiwanda. For information, call (818) 677-2786.
