43 More Stores, Restaurants Added to Block at Orange

The Block at Orange announced Tuesday the names of 43 new tenants for the sprawling shopping and entertainment center, including 10 stores and eateries that will be making debuts in Orange County.

The overall list includes Old Navy, Ben & Jerry’s and Athlete’s Foot. The newcomers to the county include Ranch One, a chicken eatery; Just for Feet; Sweets From Heaven and Big Entertainment, a movie memorabilia shop.

The center previously announced such anchor tenants as a Vans Skate Park, a 30-screen AMC movie theater, Virgin Megastore and Dave & Buster’s restaurant and entertainment center.

The Block has signed up tenants for 70% of its space and should be 80% leased when it opens at the end of this year, said Jerry Engen, vice president and development director for the Mills Corp., which is developing the mall.

The $165-million mall is being built on the site of the former City Shopping Center in Orange.
