From Times Wire Reports

South African authorities claimed to be closing in on suspects in the bombing of a Planet Hollywood restaurant in Cape Town. The U.S. State Department said the restaurant may have been targeted because of its American links. “I have no doubt that [the police have] got an idea as to who actually committed this crime, and I’m confident that they’re going to arrest them,” South African President Nelson Mandela said. FBI investigators were due today to join in the inquiry. The blast killed a South African man and injured 27 others. A caller who said he represented a group called Muslims Against Global Oppression claimed responsibility. But a leader of the group dismissed the claim.
