* MRV Communications Inc. of Chatsworth said third-quarter earnings will be below its expectations, with revenue 10% to 15% below second-quarter revenue of $65.7 million. In the 1997 third quarter, the company earned $5.9 million, or 23 cents a diluted share, on revenue of $42 million. MRV shares fell $2.50 to close at $14.28 on Nasdaq. The company released its forecast after U.S. markets closed.
