University Insurance Center Gets $50,000
The Cal State Fullerton Center for Insurance Studies received a $50,000 grant Wednesday from the Mercury General Corp.
The grant is the first donation for the new center, established in December, and key to moving forward with goals, director Weili Lu said..
The money will go toward maintenance, scholarships and internships, she said.
The center’s goal is to attract and educate students committed to the insurance industry. Cal State Fullerton is an ideal spot, Lu said, because it is surrounded by so many insurance agencies such as Mercury.
